Woodruff Scout Reservation

After three years Troop 4125 FINALLY made it to summer camp and it was a great week at Woodruff Scout Camp! Our scouts worked on a variety of merit badges including Citizenship in the World, Swimming, First Aid, Personal Fitness, Pottery, Sculpture, Oceanography, Photography, Astronomy, Fishing, Animation, Graphic Arts, and Woodworking. Some of our scouts went horseback riding in Tennessee and others went to Kendall Crossing, a re-creation of an 1894 village. One of our scouts and one leader completed Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED training. Another scout and another leader took part in the Polar Bear Plunge. Another scout and leader went geocaching. Together we took 3rd place overall in the camp wide games. The scouts participated in the spoof merit badge class and earned their Miscommunication merit badge. We made it to movie night but were rained out of the flag retirement ceremony. We made the camp newsletter which makes us “camp famous.” Our troop earned the Honor Troop Award, Sustainability Award, and Adult Leader Awards. Of course, on the way there we toured a college (’cause that’s just how we roll!) We all made new friends and memories to last a lifetime!
